This is a nice chicken fried steak recipe; easy to follow and simple to make. I followed other reviewers and used buttermilk for the coating (since I already had it on hand for dh's corn bread, lol). I ended up adding more garlic and onion powder; it stilled seemed like it needed a little bit of something, but am not sure what. It went over well with dh and the kids, though; they were sorry there weren't seconds. Thanks so much for sharing! :o)

This recipe got raves. I'm not a meat eater, so I can't personally comment on it, but I was one happy cook to hear how much everyone enjoyed it. It's a nice treat for chicken fried steak lovers. As suggested by another reviewer, I substituted buttermilk for the milk, and the coating was delicious. As an accompaniment, I fixed recipe #68159, Mimi Bobeck's Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes. It's been only a week since I served this steak & potatoes meal, and it's being requested again already.

I love Recipezaar! I have found many great recipes on this site! Since I've found zaar, I've been spending more time making recipes from zaar than I have from my dozens of cookbooks. What can I say....zaar members post darn good recipes! I wish that I could spend more time cooking but I tend to keep meals simple because I work full time as an Microsoft Exchange E-mail Administrator and I spend the rest of my time taking care of my three year old toddler. He demands so much of my time that I don't have as much time to cook as I used to. My favorite hobbies are collecting recipes and photography. I am an amateur photographer and I take pictures at almost every chance that I get. The picture that is posted on this page is a self portrait.
