King's Inn Tartar Sauce/Seafood Sauce

"There is a very famous restaurant in Baffin Bay, Texas (East of Riviera, Texas), called King's Inn. The specialties of the house are sliced avocado salad, onion rings, shrimp, and their tartar sauce/seafood sauce. It is absolutely to die for and I have the recipe!!! It's definitely a restaurant recipe, as it makes a huge amount...so reduce the recipe as needed."

  1. The recipe for the King's Inn tartar sauce was in the newspaper a long time ago. I know some friends have the recipe still, but I don't remember it at all. I pretty sure they use chile pequin instead of jalepenos.

  2. Great seafood in Texas.

  3. WOW....... I have heard for years from this person and that person that they had the recipe for the Famous King's Inn Seafood sauce. I have seen many interpretations of this recipe. I will have to admit that this is the closest I have ever seen someone come up with. They have ALL the ingredients EXCEPT ONE ingredient. I know one other person that had the original recipe. She had worked there for Many Years. I have had the recipe for over 25 years. I got it from the Main Cook there for over 25 years. Mine measured the vegetables by the pound using a gallon of Mayo and a Gallon of Miracle Whip. A can of this and a half a bottle of that, including a 1/4 bottle worcestershire sauce. (4ozs.) it made 3-4 gallons of Seafood Sauce. I Measured everything out and then divided it by Four to give me a recipe Much like this one above. I was sworn to secrecy years ago. You are very close , but "NO CIGAR"....... LOL

  1. I shortened this by 3. It was just as I remembered. Haven't been able to get back to the resturant for several years(covid, border issues, illness, etc). So I was very excited when I finally came across this recipe. We use this on salad as a dressing enhancement with Green Godess dressing, as tarter sauce, stuffed celery, veggie platters or just as a cracker or chip dip. Thank you so much for this recipe post. I give it 5 stars ?? ?? ?? ?? ??! Its so good I hope it does not stop folks for going to the resturant tho, I need them to stay in business so please remember to take the drive to visit Kings Inn resturant!!!

  2. We have been eating here since it opened. My grandfather was actually a waiter there in 1948. It is Ritz crackers. Going there tomorrow actually! Enjoy!
