Just like NOLA! I scaled down the drink since it was for only one. I left out the simple syrup because hurricanes in general are too sweet for me. It was very good indeed! Made for ZWT5 - RRR.

Congratulations on your 2010 Football Pool win...I tried this recipe and LOVED it. I think I even like it better than the one's from Pat O's and being a Louisianian, that is almost treason around here. LOVED the addition of the pom juice! Certainly impressed the friends I mixed these up for.

Very yummy. I omitted the grenadine cause we don't like when it's too sweet. Thanks Alligirl :) Made for Holiday tag

The Real Deal! Best cocktail I've had in a long time; this has me planning how to drink some more and take some aspirin before I retire to avoid a hangover (we don't drink much). Let me see -- who was the designated driver? I didn't have the patience to make simple syrup, so I added half the amount for simple syrup as the amount of confectioner's sugar and stirred until it dissolved (triumph!). Made half a batch, which will make 2 Category 5 Hurricanes (very big glass like the souvenir glass from Commander's Palace where Emeril was head chef). Such a wonderful, dangerous drink, it brings back memories of my last trip to New Orleans. Thanks for sharing this recipe, alligirl! Made for ZWT5 for the French/Cajun/Creole Region as "Slice of Lime Babe" of the Bodacious Brickhouse Babes. Excellent drink!
